- During RRS Discovery Cruise 164, four SeaSoar sections were worked in the vicinity of the Crozet Plateau in the Southern Ocean at 45 deg E. The SeaSoar sections ran for a total length of 2870 km, about half running eastwards on the south and north sides of the Plateau, the remainder running northwards across the Plateau and across the Subtropical Front at 39 deg S, 52 deg E. The SeaSoar run also crossed the Antarctic Circumpolar Current, and contains evidence for many eddies. Temperature, salin
