- This journal was originally titled Symon’s Meteorological Magazine and was first published in 1866. In 1920 the Meteorological Office took over the publication of this journal and it was combined with the Monthly Circular of the Meteorological Office and renamed the Meteorological Magazine. It became much more of an internal publication with staff contributing research reports and review articles. With Office announcements and personnel information also included, it was more commonly referred to as “Met Mag”. There was a brief interruption to its publication during the Second World War, with a typescript copy produced during this 1940-1946 period. Publication resumed in 1947 until it ceased in December 1993.
