Abstract:
  • The losses from the gales Anatol, Lothar, and Martin in December 1999 supply valuable new findings on the windstorm risk in Europe. A comparison with the loss experience from the iwnter storm series in 1990 has led to a new assessment of important loss parameters in France and Germany. For the first time ever, detailed windstorm data for Denmark was available in a form that could be used in a scientific study.
