Description:
- Photographic copy of Weather Diary kept by individual with the initials RB possibly R. Birkbeck. Weather Observations taken at a site not precisely defined in the Aylsham-Buxton area of Norfolk for the period March 1786 - June 1791. Giving pressure, temperature, remarks, notes on wind direction and rainfall from July 1786. Rainfall - some daily reading but most appear to accumulated totals, times of temperature readings not stated note with diary states believed to have been 0900 and 2100 with occasional 1200 readings. Occasional remarks note weather and phenological data.
Diary was lent to the Met Office through HQ No 3 Group RAF Mildenhall by Squadron Leader Beckett. This photographic copy was made in September 1956.
