Description:
- Made in the UK by the company Short and Mason, London in 1941. An instrument designed for recording small and rapid variations of atmospheric pressure. Flexible metal bellows constitute an aneroid capsule and are made to drive a capacitance micrometer. The instrument is compensated for temperature changes and is protected against mechanical distortion and vibration. The pressure is recorded on cylindrical "S" type drum, driven by a weekly clock, upon this a paper form is attached and marked by a pen, attached by a spindle. A glass case covers the mechanics. Met Office serial No. 492/41.
