  • Made in the UK by the company Short and Mason, London in 1945. An instrument designed for recording small and rapid variations of atmospheric pressure. Flexible metal bellows constitute an aneroid capsule and are made to drive a capacitance micrometer. The pressure is recorded on cylindrical "S" type drum, driven by a weekly clock, upon this a paper form is attached and marked by a pen, attached by a spindle. A glass case covers the mechanics. It has white tape stuck along the bottom with the wording: For Display Purposes Only. Met Office serial No. 820/42/45.
