Description:
- Made by Casella of London. This clockwork aspirated psychrometer is used to measure humidity. It consists of two ducts that contain the Assmann type thermometers and a detachable motor driven fan in a polished chrome case, which is wound up using the keys provided. The clockwork motor runs for at least 10 minutes when wound up. It has a wooden box, in a rather battered condition, held closed with string. The box has written on it British Antarctic Survey, BAS Cambridge. The instrument has a metal plate on the top, by the hole for the key to wind it up, with the makers name, Casella, London, serial number 680/55. The Meteorological Office MO logo and the reference number MET REF 869.
