Stations UK, Channel Islands, and European coastal locations. UK Inland sites: London, Oxford, Cambridge, York, Nottingham and Parsonstown. From 1 January new format Barometer, Wind and Sea charts combined into one and also Temperature and Weather combined into one. Colour printing including sea areas on charts. Forecasts present for climatological districts for the first time as of 1 January 1881. Section also includes gale warnings in place, symbols given from 1 May 1887. Forecasts not issued on Sundays. Elements reported (8am, 2pm, 'yesterday evening'): Pressure, temperature, wind direction and force, weather (Beaufort Letters),sea disturbance and daily maximum and minimum temperature and rainfall. From 1 January 1884 'Summary of Changes in the Weather over the British Islands and their Neighbourhood' is given weekly (Tuesdays). From 7 April 1886 'Continental Information' section provided on page 4 - gives textual description of general weather situation.
