Description:
  • Pages 1 and 4: Tables of selected UK Stations containing reports for 0100, 0700, 1300 and 1800. Elements reported: pressure, wind, weather, temperature, humidity, visibility, cloud, sea disturbance and state of ground. Also weather for past 24hrs including daily maximum temperature, minimum temperature rainfall and sunshine. Page 2: Table of health resorts, forecasts for 24hrs for 20 districts, General Inference, Further Outlook and Synoptic Chart for 0700. Page 3: contains chart of weather in the Northern Hemisphere for the morning (observations not synchronous) Page 4 also includes London observations and a few foreign observations. 4 page Monthly summary 4 provides general monthly summary and data. Page 4 contains depiction of variation in pressure from Iceland to the Gulf of Lyons. From 1935 kinking of isobars possibly represents the start of frontal analysis in the DWR (fronts are not included). 6th September 1939 Health Resorts data dropped. From 18th September 1939 no observations from Germany or Russia. From 1 July 1940 page 2 includes Abridged observations of additional stations in the Aviation Weather Code (these appear to be land stations but are reported in Aviation Code).
