Description:
- Station History files contain documentation and correspondence regarding the set-up, inspection and running of the observing station. If the station is closed there will also usually be a notification of station closure and date of closure. Coverage dates given include documentation on station set-up and wind-down. Observation Data will only be available between station opening and station closure dates.
Files will typically contain the following documents:
1.Correspondence, maps and sometimes also plans and photographs regarding the initial setting-up of the station.
2. Information on instruments and site - Tables of corrections of instruments, Form 1094 ?Notes on the Site and Equipment of the meteorological Station? (later Form 1094 Climaster Station Details printout) giving details of the equipment installed, and usually hand-drawn plans of the site, showing the position of the instruments and any significant obstructions. Also Sunshine obstruction diagrams.
3. Inspector's notebooks (Form 3010 ) and reports (Form 3011, later replaced by Station Inspection Report and Climaster Station Status printout) containing results of station inspections and usually photographs of the site from each direction.
4. Various correspondence regarding matters to be rectified as a result of inspections and upgrading or replacement of equipment.
