Description:
- The marine open-scale barograph is constructed on the same principle as the aneroid barometer and records its readings by a pen over a replaceable chart. While it is not a precision instrument it does provide a graphical record of pressure fluctuations with the times that they occur. This instrument is in a white case with a silver metal handle on the top and glass panels on the front and left side. the right side has the access hatch with metal hinges. There are 2 white labels stuck to the top of the instrument, one with a reminder that the instrument is the property of the Met Office and must be returned if no longer needed and the other has instructions for transporting the instrument (Marine Barograph MET 1191). A further label is stuck to the front glass panel and is the Met OS4 Form 24 (Form of barograph during last 3 hours). A piece of black tape is stuck on the top left of the case with 6309/71 indented on it.
