Abstract:
- The Chronicum Scotorum gives an account of a "tower of fire" surrounded by "birds" which picked up objects from the ground. This undoubted tornado occurred 37 years before the famous London case of October 1091, which has hitherto been regarded as the earliest definite tornado on record in the British Isles.
